Whether you are new to CLA, or one of our current families, or an alumna or an alumnus, we are very pleased that you’re here! Creative Learning Academy is a very special place for our boys and girls, and we are all very proud of the amazing work that is accomplished here – but one group might be even a little bit more proud…

Some of you might know that the dragon is CLA’s mascot and that many of the athletic and social activities on campus feature the dragon’s rendering. However, very few people are aware of the four very special dragons that helped found Creative Learning Academy back in 1972. These mighty and formidable saurians, Li-Lung, Naga, Tatsu, and Zaltis, were summoned from ages past with great pageantry, their heraldry and grandeur proceeding them. The four courageous dragons each championed a noble cause to bring the fledgling school – integrity, excellence in academics, creativity, and passion for the arts and athletics. The four mighty fire-breathing dragons united their magical gifts to the school into a single white-hot flame that was captured and fortified by the school’s torch of learning, a likeness of which can still be seen today on the school’s coat of arms. Even more importantly, the students at CLA honor these gracious creatures by becoming active members of the Li-Lung Lair, the Nagas Lair, the Tatsu Lair, or the Zaltis Lair when they reach 5th grade to continue the gallant traditions established by the mighty and awe-inspiring dragons.

And, as far as we know, no other school in Pensacola, or in the United States for that matter, can trace its origin back to the intervention of noble dragons.

While our dragons play an important mythical role in the academic, social, and ethical development of our boys and girls, our teachers are the real-life heroes. You will simply not find a more dedicated or better-prepared group of educators than you will at Creative Learning Academy! They are outstanding role models and tireless advocates for their students, which explains why our graduates consistently outperform students from any other school at the secondary level and are accepted at the finest colleges and universities around the world.

We enjoy story-telling and value creative expression at CLA, the facts and the numbers are both solid and irrefutable - Creative Learning Academy is the preeminent college-preparatory, fully accredited school in and around the Greater Pensacola region, our boys and girls could measure up very nicely with the top schools anywhere in America.
