WHAT IS THE ANNUAL FUND?

The Annual Fund is Creative Learning Academy’s most important fundraising effort. This annual appeal is to the parents, grandparents, past parents, alumni, and friends who believe in our mission, support our ideals, and recognize the value of a CLA education.  

The Annual Fund raises money to bridge the gap between the total cost of running the school and tuition revenue. At CLA, it costs more to educate our students than we charge in tuition. Tuition and fees cover only 70% of CLA’s operating budget. A gap of about $3.300 exists between the real cost of educating each student and the tuition charged.

Independent schools receive no tax dollars. We rely on gifts to the Annual Fund to raise a significant portion of the funds needed to sustain the school’s commitment to providing each student with the highest quality education.The remaining gap is funded by other fundraisers such as the Fall Festival, Father Daughter Ball, Bayou Hills Run and Dragon Jubilee.

The Annual Fund helps pay for everything! Your gift supports not only the necessities of day-to-day operations like books and supplies; it also supports the people and programs that make a difference for CLA students.  It provides for faculty salaries and professional development, curriculum and our enrichments. HOW CAN YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

Many donors see their gift to CLA as a means of "giving back."  They believe that supporting our school through a charitable gift is a way of expressing gratitude for how CLA prepared them or their children to be successful in life. Others give because they see the value of an independent school education and want to ensure that the 38-year legacy of our school continues for future generations of CLA students.

Many people ask "How much should I give?" Only you can determine that, but please be as generous as possible and give a gift that is meaningful to you. It is our hope that every member of the CLA community will choose to participate in the Annual Fund.

When considering your charitable donations, we ask that you please put CLA at the top of your list.
