A Message from Mr. Parker...
When Good Kids Hear About Bad Things It's almost impossible to turn on the television, listen to the radio, or pick up a newspaper these days without having some bad news pour out. Some of the topics are things that are happening far away such as the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, but there are also things that are happening right in our backyards like crime and the H1N1 outbreak. While they might be too young to grasp the politics and realities of life's troubles, it's important that we all do our best to help our children cope with the issues as they pertain to them. The most important step for all of us is to listen and talk with our children, and to let them know that it's okay to express themselves to you about how they feel. Some children will communicate these concerns through stories or artwork, but however they try to get the message to you, be sure to listen, let them know that you are always ready to talk with them about their concerns, and assure them that they are safe.
It's not easy being a kid these days!
Check out what our students are doing...
Mrs. Janson's preprimary class was invited to Trick or Treat at Carpenter's Creek Assisted Living last Monday. Everyone enjoyed the experience so much!! Mrs. Janson mentioned that she wasn't sure who had a better time, the kids or the seniors. This is a wonderful service project and the residents were very impressed with our children.

Art with Mr. Benny...
Art to Remember Packets are due on Friday, October 30.
"Art to Remember"creates products with your child's artwork as a keepsake. They make an excellent product, and these will be delivered to you in time for holiday gift giving. This is the Art Department's only fundraiser; it is a tremendous help to our program. Please take note of the Art packet containing one of your child's artworks on a magnet. The company "Art to Remember" prints your child's artwork on various keepsakes (ie: key chains, coffee cups, pillows, t-shirts, and magnets). If you wish to purchase the magnet or any of the items listed in the catalog, please return your order form by this Friday. (Checks payable to Creative Learning Academy). If you do not want to order anything, please return the magnet along with the order form packet to your homeroom teacher.
